“Headin’ Home” by Linda Egle
16 1/2″H x 45″L x 19 1/2″W | Limited Edition 15
This is a sculpture that I was very honored to do, it is of a locally well known cowboy. Roger McGooden broke young colts to lead and to handle by linking them all together with their lead ropes. He told me he could handle as many as 8 to 10 colts this way. Here he is working with grown horses.
When we talked about this project, he was in a serious battle with cancer. He passed away about two months later, before I could complete the clay work. As to a title, the day he passed away, it came to me that he knew he was heading home.
